Where you can
Make your best work.
A live and recorded arts retreat on the edge of the North Atlantic.
The original home of the St. Michael's Printshop, where some of Newfoundland's greatest visual artists once worked. Lift the studio rugs and you can see the paint they left behind. Today it's a place where musicians, theatre makers, dancers and performing artists come to make something extraordinary.
Visual artists, crafters, writers, filmmakers and circus artists have also found inspiration on this coast, and all are welcome.

One room, many uses
A 22 × 25 room with a wooden floor that becomes a recording studio, a theatre, or a dance hall. A Yamaha baby grand, a Hammond organ, and a control room when you need it.
A house to live & work in
You don't just book a studio — you move into the house. Three proper bedrooms, working fireplaces, a sauna, a twelve-seat table, and a balcony that spans the water side.

Across the water from the wild
St. Michael's sits across from the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve; one of the largest seabird and puffin colonies in North America. From May to September the islands are wild with birds, and whales come up while you work.
Wildly alive, May to September
Songwriters, bands, playwrights, dancers, and companies on retreat — serious makers who need room to make something excellent.
