Across the water from the wild.
St. Michael's sits between Burnt Cove and Bauline East on Newfoundland's southern shore — across deep ocean from the islands, and one of the largest seabird and puffin colonies in North America.
From May to September the cliffs are wild with birds; whales come up while you work.

Trails & wild things
The southern-shore trail network sits right at the door, and the East Coast Trail threads the cliffs north and south for days in either direction.
A short drive away, LaManche Village — the suspension bridge, and the swimming hole where seals come up to sun themselves. Behind the church, berry fields and old logging trails wind back into the woods.

Cliffs Edge Retreat & The Forager
A five minute walk down the road — very good food. Larger groups can expand into this retreat and hotel or splurge on an ocean facing sauna or an excellent latte. There are many other local AirBNBs as well, who have wonderful properties facing the islands.
From St. John's, it's a quiet hour's drive down the coast — the Avalon opening up as the road bends towards the water.
This is the town — the studio's exact location is shared after booking.
